modalities that are available for determining if an atherosclerotic plaque
is vulnerable. The comparative value of evolving technologies such as
OCT, IVUS, NIR spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy, thermography, MRI, angioscopy,
ultrafast CT, and serum markers such as CRP, Amyloid A protein, IL-6,
and protease-activated NIR probes will be reviewed.
