an understanding of the potential role of telemedicine, especially the
transmission of digital images in the catheterization laboratory. The
advantages and limitations of available options and potential clinical
applications are also explained. Upon completion of this course, you should

overview of state-of-the-art modalities that are available for determining
if an atherosclerotic plaque is vulnerable. The comparative value of evolving
technologies such as OCT, IVUS, NIR spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy,
thermography, MRI, angioscopy, ultrafast CT, and serum markers such as
CRP, Amyloid A protein, IL-6, and protease-activated NIR probes will be

After August 28, 2005 it will no longer be certified for credit, but may still have value for the healthcare provider.
