in the Cardiac Cath Lab: The Essentials This program defines radiation
quantities and units, summarizes FDA and JCAHO guidelines for fluoroscopy
use and operator training, describes and predicts possible bioeffects
associated with high radiation skin doses, and recommends appropriate
techniques to manage radiation exposure to the patient and operator. Upon completion of this course, you should

technique of rotational angiographic image acquisition, summarizes the
improvements in patient safety using rotational versus traditional "fixed
view" image acquisition, and describes the added clinical value from 3D
angiographic reconstruction and analysis in the performance of PCI. Upon completion of this course, you should

Target Audience The Annual Scientific Sessions represent a unique forum driven by issues of the day in invasive and interventional cardiology and are of special interest to invasive and interventional cardiologists, fellows-in-training, cath lab nurses, technologists, technicians, and staff. Accreditation Period This activity was approved for AMA category 1 credit for two years from the original release date of September 8, 2003. After September 8, 2005 it will no longer be certified for credit, but may still have value for the healthcare provider.
